Day 2 at Yas Island: Pic Stories

A MIX OF NURSES. The nurses around the table are a mix of nurses coming from different hospitals – Al Ain Hospital, Tawam Hospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center and Al Rahba Hospital. We only get to meet here at Yas Island once a year so we try to catch up here on our first lunch together for the week. Thanks to the Grand Prix for these friends.

SUNSET AT YAS ISLAND. I couldn’t help but take a shot of this beautiful sunset at Yas Island. The sun was still trying to light up the clouds on this shot taken yesterday afternoon.

NASI GORENG. this evening, the chef here at Crowne Plaza Hotel offered to cook for me a rice dish he called Nasi Goreng. It was so delicious, that I had to google up after coming back in my hotel room. Nasi Goreng, according to Wikipedia, is the national dish of Indonesia. Nasi goreng, literally meaning “fried rice” in Indonesian, can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice, a meal including stir fried rice in small amount of cooking oil or margarine, typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, tamarind and chilli and accompanied with other ingredients, particularly egg, chicken and prawns.

Everything… the accomodations, the good food and friendship, are such nice things to share! I’m thrilled that you are getting to have this adventure. This is not what I think of when someone says they are a nurse! ; )

My job as a paramedic for Formula 1 is really quite different from hospital nursing. I could stay on this job forever, but unfortunately I couldn’t. But nevertheless, I love this job!

    I like Nasi Goreng… I missed that food. It’s common in Singapore…
