It was a 2-hour trip from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi. It was a comfortable bus ride with a 10-minute stop over in a small restaurant.
First destination was the Corniche in Abu Dhabi. The corniche is a long seafront road that extends to about 6 kilometers from Sheraton Hotel to about the Hilton Hotel. There are several gardens and play grounds lined along the beach.
We sat on the grass and strolled along the beachline. A majestic view of the city skyscrapers was at the back ground. The white sand and the blue-green water was warm. It was my son’s first beach experience. He really enjoyed the water!
We had a problem with our camera though, but that did not hindered us from enjoying the trip. I used my cellphone camera to capture the moment 🙂
Tiara is a revolving restaurant sitting on top of a tower called Burj Al Marina. You have to go through Marina Mall to get to the lifts that will take you to the 55-floor high dining area. Tiara is a Mediterranean and Western fused fine dining restaurant
When we got there, a breath-taking view of the Corniche beach and the beautiful part of the Abu Dhabi where stunning buildings – including the Palace Hotel- are located. This hotel was controversial last Christmas for setting up the most expensively-ornamented Christmas tree in the world.
Going back to Tiara, the gimmick of a revolving restaurant giving you a 360-degree view of the place, was not the main attraction. It was the food of course! We had Mushroom soup, Fetuccini, Chicken breast. For deserts we had Tiramisu and Banana crumble. For drinks, we had ‘S on Tiara’, and mango cocktail.
