The Mirror

The good you find in others, is in you too.

The faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

After all, to recognize something you must know it.

The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well.

The beauty you see around you, is your beauty.

The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.

To change your world, you must change yourself.

To blame and complain will only make matters worse.

Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.

What you see in others, shows you yourself.

See the best in others, and you will be your best.

Give to others, and you give to yourself.

Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful.

Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

Love, and you will be loved.

Seek to understand, and you will be understood.

Listen, and your voice will be heard.Teach, and you will learn.

Show your best face to the mirror, and you’ll be happy with the face looking back at you.

There were times before when I was so down that I wouldn’t even look at the mirror. Kasi those times, parang I see myself as different and ugly. Haha, but when my class was forced to participate in a group counseling, I tried what they taught us, what to do when you feel sad, lazy, tired, or ugly:

Look at the mirror, smile (force yourself even if you don’t mean it), and tell yourself, “ang pangit ko,” or “tinatamad ako,” while smiling. It would change your view.

I was skeptical about it at first but it did work because it felt awkward and funny when you do it. Who knows, maybe it will work for you. 🙂

simply put: whatever you do to others go back to you, much like a pay-it-forward but in reverse (does that make sense?). anyway, i really think it is all about a paradigm shift in perspective, if you see a beauty in yourself, it actually reflects to all the things around you, hence, you will see a better surrounding, a better life + hopefully a better world! if we can all be positive it would probably have such profound effects to the world around us! inspiring poem, thanks for sharing 😉
