Dona Nobis Pacem!

NOV09globebottomRightWorld peace is something that almost everyone dreams of. This is what our planet needs today. From across the globe, people fight against each other. Why? I think it’s because people have different opinions, and different perspectives, and everyone needs to be heard.

I wonder it there will still come a time when everyone would just live in harmony, that all will just respect each other’s differences. I really wish that this time would come.

Today, I support Mimi’s Blog Blast for Peace project. Thousands of peace globes will be flagged on blog sites today. Dona Nobis Pacem means “Grant us peace!” Let everyone hear our voice!

Happy 2nd Blogiversary!

Happy%202nd%20Birthday!Happy Anniversary! Happy birthday to my blog! Today is my 2nd year of blogging, and how time flies!

I published my first post on 03 October 2007, with nothing in mind but to be able to write down thoughts and insights. I initially started my domain at friendster, moved to blogger, until I found its present home – wordpress. Two years after, this blog has grown a lot. This may not be one of those that really get lots of traffic, but I still get around 100 visitors a day.

Let me share some 2nd year stats as of 02 October:

1.  number of published posts: 170

2.  number of published comments: 885

3.  reader who dropped the most number of  comments:  Marc

4.  post with the most number of comments: Worried Over Elevated SGPT (16 May 2008)

5.  busiest day (day with most number of visitors): 29 September 2009 (very recent!)

Allow me to thank those who stopped by, especially those who took the time leaving comments. Thank you for sharing in the ups and downs of my life. I could have stopped writing, but your continuous visits and comments encouraged me to continue.

I am looking forward to another year of blogging fun, and even more years of friendships from people known and unknown.

Again, happy 2nd birthday to my blog!

Iñigo Moves to WordPress

new headerMy son’s baby blog moves to WordPress! The new address is http://inigobautista.wordpress.com. A link going to the new site is added in the “Friends of the Blog” list of this page.

His previous domain, Friendster blog  allows only limited storage space and Iñigo’s blog has used almost 95% of the allocated space. Hence, this transfer to the blog’s new location.

I hope you continue reading his posts in its new new home. Please update your bookmarks! He will continue posting bulletins in friendster to keep his readers updated of new story postings.

Thanks!

Dona Nobis Pacem

Dona Nobis Pacem is the Latin for “Grant Us Peace.”

Today is Peace Globes Day! Hundreds of blog sites from across the world will be joining today’s movement for peace dubbed Blog Blast for Peace. Mimi started this movement in the blogosphere in June 2006, and today’s launch is the fifth.

I only came across her blog recently and was completely amazed by how bloggers from different countries respond to her call for peace. Today, bloggers join hands in voicing out their common aspiration for our own planet. Everyone will be displaying their own version of their globe on their sites.

Peace on Earth!

Happy Blogiversary!

I did not realize it. I have been blogging for more than a year now! Time sure flies when you’re having fun! My first post was dated 3rd of October 2007, and so I should have celebrated my first year anniversary in the blogging world a couple of weeks back. But nevertheless, here’s my anniversary post to celebrate my blog’s birthday.

I never thought I’d ever develop an interest in blogging. When one posts his writing, he actually opens himself to the world. There’s a tendency for people not to like what you write, and you may get criticisms. But I had very good feedbacks and comments during my first few months of writing, and that I believe made me encourage to continue blogging. Since then, my site has generated readers (and new friends!).

In the last twelve months that I was blogging, my site has been a witness to the changes that were happening to my life. My wife had an operation. My first baby was born. I taught in nursing school. I moved to the UAE to continue my nursing profession. I wrote not only my ups, but my downs as well. People reading my posts have started to know more about me and my family. My life has become an open book to the world.

Thanks to everyone who stops by on this page and leaves a comment. It would be no fun without you, guys! I hope that you learn and gain something with what I write. I apologize for not being able to post more often. My shifting schedule makes it very difficult to post often, but I do wanted to write about a lot of things. I hope that I will be able to post more in the coming year.

Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday to my blog!

Check out my other sites!

Aside from digital catharsis, I am also managing three other sites. Some has known the sites through my link in this page’s blogroll. But for some who have not visited my other blog spaces, allow me to introduce these very cool sites. Just click the titles to link you to the sites:

Iñigo’s First Journal – This site was born during the time when my wife started conceiving our first baby. I felt that a new individual is starting to grow, and that he might have some things to say, that he just can’t put into words at the moment. The father-to-be takes the baby’s point of view in this very special story of a baby’s growth starting from his being a fetus.

Nelsondidith.com – A dear friend bought us this website as a wedding and valentine gift. This site is a picture story of our marriage, and the people around us. I think it’s a very nice way of sharing a life full of love, courage and inspiration.

Sentimental Journey – I initially made this site a second version of digital catharsis, until I recently changed the blog’s theme to a more interesting level. It has now become a nursing blog where most stories are my real-life experiences and struggles as a nurse.  I draw inspiration from my work, my colleagues, and my patients.

Lord, bless my online friends

I am just on my sixth month blogging. I have published 31 posts so far. But it will be very difficult to quantify how many people I have reached out with this blog site.

I was reading my past posts, including previous comments and I am truly grateful how I was able to acquire some online friends – fellow bloggers and non-bloggers – who continue to drop by my site, even if there were periods when I was not able to blog. I should say that some comments were really inspiring.

There are some readers who just drop by, and do not leave any note or comments, so their presence were not felt in the site. But I was able to personally talk to some of them, and some left messages on my personal email. They usually tell some very good words, and I appreciate it a lot. I may not know some of the readers who just read without leaving their trace, but I also appreciate the time and interest they gave.

Thank you for giving me this space in the blogging world. My traffic may not be as high as the other blogs, but I am very contented with how friends, known and unknown, appreciate what I do. I was able to achieve my blog goal of reaching out and sharing a part of me to other people.

God bless my online friends!
