It’s BC Bloggers Meme Day and today’s question is:

What food takes you back to your childhood?

There are lots of food that brings me back to my childhood, just because they were my favorites before. Allow me to tell you one by one:

FISHBALLS. Outside our school gates, there would always be this man who had a pushcart where he can cook fishballs. There would be different kinds of sauces in jars where you can dip your fishballs. Yummy!

SCRAMBLE. And there would be another man outside the school gate, who set up the sidecar of his bicycle as a moving store. He had a blender and he would mix crushed ice with either orange or strawberry flavors. A refreshing drink on a hot summer!

CHEESE CURLS. I knew it was junk food, but I was not really interested about the cheese curls,but I was more excited about the kind of toy they had on every pack.

LALA CHOCOLATES. These were the cheap chocolates proudly-made from my little town Guiguinto. There was a rumor that the factory was located beside a funeral parlor, but we still loved it

SOURBALLS and PRETZELS. Sourballs were candies and pretzels were chocolate-coated sticks (not the ribbon-shaped bread you’re thinking). Both were packaged in a box, and just because they’re in a box, they were favorite Christmas gifts during school parties. Easy to wrap, but I would not want to receive!

My Bday Give-away!

Hi guys! A month from now, I’ll be celebrating my birthday and as a treat to all my followers and site visitors, I’d like to launch a contest here on my site. And I’m giving away…

Yup, a hundred dollars will be given away to the lucky winner! (The sponsor will be disclosed later). The amount will go straight to your bank account! For Philippine residents, the equivalent amount in pesos will be remitted.

So are you now excited to know the contest mechanics? Here it goes…

1.  The contest is open to anyone, as long as you have your own blog site. Participants should be at least 18 years old. A bank account will be necessary, but the details will not be taken from the participant until he/she is declared the winner.

2.  Point-system is going to be used for this contest. Each participants will given points for each site activity.

3.  5 points are given if you post about this contest on your site and invite your friends. If you have multiple blog sites, each post will be given five points. I need to know that you own several sites so the points would collect under one name only. You can mention that on your posts.

4.  4 points are given if you subscribe to the site. If you are a previous subscriber and is joining the contest, the points will be given to you.

5.  3 points will be given for posting a comment on any of the previous posts on this site. If you have commented before, they will not be counted. Only comments posted after today’s launch will be counted.

6.  1 point will be given for clicking the “like” button at the end of any of the previous posts. This part  applies to WordPress users only.

7.  It will be difficicult to count the points if you have many usernames, so 1 username per person only. So if you are using different usernames for your multiple sites, I might not be able to count them as coming from one person only. The points will be separated into the different usernames.

8.  In case more than one person ties on the first place, I will choose the winner based on the contents of his posts and comments.

9.  In case the winner does not have a bank account, he/she will be contacted by email to arrange on how the prize will be claimed.

10. I will have the right to disregard or not count the points for certain comments and posts (eg. not related to the article, annoying)

11.  The contest will close on June 28, 2011 @ 12 midnight Philippine time. Contest winner will be chosen on 01 July 2011. The winner will be contacted by email to arrange on how the cash prize will be remitted.

Actually, this is the first time I am doing a contest on my blog and I am not sure if I there are rules out there that I might be violating, or I should consider. I just thought that this is just for fun, and there’s no advertisements or products involved, so I guess there’s nothing wrong with this. Lucky Month is Coming!

A month after next month is July! It is a very lucky month for our family, because that was the month when our baby Inigo was born. But do you know that this year’s July will be even better for everybody? That’s feng shui calculations and some positive thinking

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdaysand 5 Sundays.

This happens once every 823 years.

This is called money bags. I was told to forward this post to my friends and money will arrive within 4 days. There’s no harm in trying, so I just did!

Based on Chinese Feng Shui, The
one who does not forward…..will be without money. Sigh!

This year we’re going to experience four unusual dates -

1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11,
11/11/11 and that’s not all…

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born –

now add the age you will be this year,

The results will be 111 for everyone in whole world.

This is the year of the Money!!!

The proverb goes that if you send this to
eight good friends money will appear in next four days as it is explained in
Chinese FENGSHUI.

Those who don’t continue the chain won’t receive…….Its
a mystery, but it’s worth a try. (Actually this part I don’t believe much – but I believe in MONEY!!! So I did send to eight friends!)

BC Bloggers Meme #2

Today is BC Bloggers meme day. This week’s meme question of the week is: How much time do you spend on Facebook?

I can’t tell exactly how much time I spend on Facebook but basically I don’t really spend a lot of time on it. I just browse through the latest updates, click “like” if I like the pictures or shout-outs, comment a line or two, greet birthday celebrants, and read personal messages. I don’t play the games, and I seldom click all pictures in a  big album.

The only reason I would get stucked in Facebook is when I am chatting with somebody. Otherwise, I would be found jumping from one site to another.  My online life is basically a site-hopping adventure.
